Another Monday...

a little birdie told me that my blog WAS CALLING AND MISSED ME!  Now how could that be that all 2.5 of y"all are missing me?  I guess you could just say I took the summer off.  So there, I took the summer off from blogging.

Today was the first day of school for #17 and #12.  Remember that post about how we had made the decision to home school our girls through K-12 this coming year?  It was an idea that sounded real good in theory.  Getting an 11th grade high school student into their program was more challenging than we expected.  Not that it couldn't be done, it was just I needed to know sooner than later that this was the path we were going to follow.  SO both girl are in public school and we are literally praying for a good year.

I can't even go on and on about what a whirlwind of a summer we had.  It was spent with lazy days trying to keep cool (ie floating in the pool).  We continue to have this extreme heat here in North Texas.  Now let me just tell y'all we ARE that family with foil on the inside of the windows of the entire house.  But this is not just any foil!  After we went with out air conditioning for 4 days (temps above 105) we had to do something!  So with the over the phone help from HH, and hands on from my Dad, I FIXED THE AC!  Did you hear that, I did it, replaced a 220 circuit breaker I did!  But back to that foil, it is the thermal insulation foil that your sun shield in the car is made of.  SILVER. BUBBLE. WRAP. And is is lining all my windows this very minute.  It is hard to tell what time of the day it is.  We live in the cave of the DARK LORD.  But on the good side it keeps the temp about 15 degrees cooler in the house and the AC not working so hard.  All we need is foil hats next!

Here is what 11th grade and 7th grade look like in the year 2011...
